VS Group is pleased to be donating 1000 advent calendars to Wood Street Mission again this year, having done the same last year.
Wood Street Mission is a Manchester-based charity that carries out invaluable work supporting families affected by poverty.
Every year during the festive season, Wood Street Mission distributes Christmas presents to low income families as part of its Christmas Project. Their ‘mission’ is to alleviate the stress and worry that Christmas can bring to families in poverty. Presents are provided by Wood Street Mission through its donations, for children under the age of 14, along with food for families for the festive season.
Everyone can get involved with the Wood Street Mission Christmas Project – it can be as simple as adding some extra items to your Christmas shop. Local businesses and vendors are also encouraged to donate and participate in the efforts this Christmas.
Earlier this week, VS Group’s Managing Director, Kevin penman, went down to the charity’s headquarters to present the charity with the advent calendars and learn more about the important work that the charity is doing for those living in poverty in Manchester.
Kevin said : “Christmas is such an important time of year, especially for children. I really believe in the amazing work that Wood Street Mission is doing and I am so happy to be supporting the charity again this Christmas”.
If you would like to get involved with the Wood Street Mission Christmas Project, you can donate toys and gifts that are new and suitable for children under the age of 14. It is suggested that gifts should be below the value of £10. You can also donate food (preferably long life items) or you can donate money to the cause directly via their website.
