Yesterday, VS Group hosted its annual Coffee Morning fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Our staff all took part in our ‘Great British Cake Off’ challenge, where they baked and brought in a cake to contribute to our cake stall.

The ‘best bake’ was judged by Stuart Pearson from Manchester Citizens Advice Bureau, one of the charities that we work with, along with some of the Bruntwood Staff at Centurion House, where the event was hosted.

It was safe to say that there was a wide and wonderful selection of cakes on offer, including a strawberry and vanilla cheesecake, baked by our Head of Sales, John Frost, a whipped cream and ganache cake by our Billing and Provisioning Manager, Alex Challoner, a decedent Ferrero Rocher cake by Telecoms Advisor, Ellis Johnson – along with many more.  However, our independent adjudicators picked Managing Director, Kevin Penman’s Oreo cheesecake as the winning bake.

We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who brought cakes and donated – with your help we managed to raise over £200 (and counting) for Macmillan Cancer Support.  In addition to this, we managed to almost completely sell out, with the last few remaining cupcakes being donated to Manchester charity, Booth Centre.
